These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Bare-Hugs website, mobile applications, and any related services (collectively referred to as the “Service” or “Services”). Please read these Terms carefully before using the Service. It is your responsibility to regularly check and/or review these Terms and to decide whether you agree to abide by and be bound by them. We may change, modify, add or delete portions of the Terms from time to time at our sole discretion and your continued use of the Service constitutes your acceptance of those changes and Terms as a whole.
About Bare-Hugs
Bare-Hugs is a preventative mentoring initiative designed to support young men through guided conversations, positive role modelling and wellbeing-focused discussions.
Bare-Hugs provides moderated online sessions, educational content, and community engagement designed to encourage resilience, personal development and healthy communication.
Bare-Hugs does not provide medical, psychological, or therapeutic services.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing the Service, you confirm that:

you have read and understood these Terms

you agree to comply with them

you will use the Service only for lawful purposes
If you are under 16 years of age, you may only use the Service with the consent of a parent or guardian.
Changes to Terms
Bare-Hugs may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be published on the website and take effect from the date of publication.
Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Eligibility
To use certain services, including webinar participation or mentor roles, users may be required to:

Bare-Hugs reserves the right to refuse or terminate access where eligibility requirements are not met.
Nature of the Service (Non-Clinical Disclaimer)
Bare-Hugs provides mentoring, discussion forums and educational content.
The Service:

does not provide medical or psychological treatment

is not a substitute for professional mental health care
If you require professional support, you should seek assistance from a qualified healthcare provider or appropriate support service.
User Conduct
Users must behave respectfully when using the Service.
You agree not to:

engage in unlawful activity

disrupt or interfere with the Service
Bare-Hugs reserves the right to remove users who breach these rules.
Mentor Participation
Mentors participating in Bare-Hugs must comply with:

mentor agreements

confidentiality expectations

professional conduct standards
Mentors must not provide clinical advice or represent themselves as acting in a therapeutic capacity through the Service.
Privacy
Your use of the Service is subject to the Bare-Hugs Privacy Policy, which explains how personal information is collected, used, stored and protected.
Intellectual Property
All content provided through the Service, including text, graphics, branding and materials, is owned by or licensed to Bare-Hugs.
Users may not reproduce, distribute, or modify content without permission, except for personal, non-commercial use.
Third-Party Services
The Service may use or link to third-party platforms, including webinar tools, payment providers or hosting services.
Bare-Hugs is not responsible for the policies or practices of third-party providers.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bare-Hugs is not liable for:

Users participate in discussions and mentoring activities voluntarily.
Suspension or Termination

Termination may occur without prior notice where necessary to protect participants.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia.
Any disputes arising in connection with the Service will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
Online session recording & consent clause
Bare-Hugs records webinars for purposes including quality assurance, safeguarding, training and educational use.
Where sessions are recorded:

participants will be informed prior to the recording taking place

reasonable steps will be taken to protect participant privacy
-
recordings will be stored securely and accessed only by authorised Bare-Hugs personnel
Participants may be invited to appear in recordings that may later be used for educational or promotional purposes. Where identifiable images or contributions are intended for public use, Bare-Hugs will seek appropriate consent.
If a participant does not wish to appear in recordings, they may choose to disable their camera or notify the session moderator in advance.
All recordings remain the property of Bare-Hugs.
Participant safety & duty of care clause
Bare-Hugs is committed to providing a respectful, safe and moderated environment for participants.
While Bare-Hugs provides mentoring and guided discussion, the Service is not a clinical or therapeutic service. Mentors are not acting as medical or mental health professionals within the Service.
Participants are expected to behave respectfully and contribute to a safe environment for others.
Bare-Hugs reserves the right to:

remove participants who engage in harmful, disruptive, or inappropriate behaviour
-
intervene where participant safety may be at risk
-
refer individuals to appropriate professional services if concerns about wellbeing arise
In circumstances where there is a reasonable belief that a participant may be at risk of harm to themselves or others, Bare-Hugs may take reasonable steps to contact appropriate support services or authorities where permitted or required by law.
Payments, Refunds and Fees
Some Bare-Hugs services may require payment, including webinar participation or events.
By purchasing access to a paid session, you agree to the stated price and payment terms at the time of registration.
Payments
Payments are processed through secure third-party payment providers. Bare-Hugs does not store full payment card details.
Refunds
Refunds may be granted under the following circumstances:

if Bare-Hugs cancels or reschedules a session
-
where required under Australian consumer law
-
where exceptional circumstances apply and Bare-Hugs determines a refund is appropriate
Refund requests must be submitted within a reasonable timeframe after the relevant event.
Missed Sessions
Failure to attend a scheduled session does not automatically entitle the participant to a refund.
Changes to Pricing
Bare-Hugs reserves the right to change pricing for future sessions or services. Any changes will not affect confirmed bookings.
Community Guidelines
Bare-Hugs aims to provide a respectful, supportive, and constructive environment where participants can engage in meaningful discussion and mentoring.
By using the Service or participating in Bare-Hugs sessions, you agree to follow these Community Guidelines.
Respectful Behaviour
Participants must treat others with respect at all times. This includes mentors, moderators and fellow participants.
You agree to:

listen respectfully to others
-
allow others to share their views without interruption
-
communicate honestly and constructively
-
contribute to a positive and supportive environment
Prohibited Conduct
The following behaviour is not permitted within the Bare-Hugs community:

harassment, intimidation or bullying
-
abusive, threatening or discriminatory language
-
hateful or offensive remarks relating to race, religion, gender, sexuality or identity
-
sharing explicit, inappropriate or harmful material
-
encouraging illegal or unsafe behaviour
-
intentionally disrupting sessions or discussions
-
impersonating others or misrepresenting yourself
Privacy and Confidentiality
Participants are expected to respect the privacy of others.
You must not:

share personal stories or information disclosed by other participants outside the session without their permission
-
record, screenshot, or distribute session content without consent from Bare-Hugs and the participants involved
Maintaining confidentiality helps create a safe and trusting environment.
Appropriate Participation
Bare-Hugs sessions are designed for constructive conversation and mentorship.
Participants should:

engage in good faith
-
follow moderator instructions
-
respect session boundaries and time limits
Mentors and moderators may guide discussions to ensure they remain safe, respectful and relevant to the session purpose.
Enforcement
Bare-Hugs reserves the right to take appropriate action if these guidelines are not followed.
This may include:

issuing warnings
-
removing a participant from a session
-
suspending or terminating access to the Service
These steps are taken to protect the safety and wellbeing of all participants.
Shared Responsibility
Bare-Hugs works to create a safe environment, but a positive community relies on the actions of all participants.
By participating, you contribute to building a respectful space where young men can learn, reflect and grow.
